Vivienne Westwood

I do not particularly like what the model has on her head but I love this sexy, feminine dress by Vivienne Westwood:

I have had an inexplicable urge to scream on and off for two to three days now.  I suppose it makes a change from the sinking desolation that has permeated almost every moment of the last few weeks.  Plus on the bright side - there actually is a bright side.

Turns out I find the self serve checkout at the local store to be a thrill.  Kind of weird to realise that has been a pleasure but there it is.  Another achievement has been to read four of my library books and return them in time despite experiencing a reading block.

I finally inquired about what to do regarding my mislaid blockbusters card.  Consequently I have recently watched:

Over Her Dead Body;
Alvin and the Chipmunks;
R.V.;
Darjeeling Ltd;
Vantage Point;
Hairspray;
The Producers;
The Other Boleyn Girl;
The Painted Veil;
Margot at the Wedding;
Rendition;
Brick.

I feel like crying today. For no reason. I wish I could be hugged right now.

Wonders of Technology...

I have just spoken to my Mom and Dad in Malta and seen them via the web-cam through Skype!   I think it is so exciting you can see and talk to people so far away.  I know it is not a new invention but it still fills me with wonder and excitement.  It is a bit like when I see airplanes up in the sky and find it funny that they look so small and yet I know they are not.  They are potentially full of people and somehow high up in the sky going somewhere.  I used to frequently catch myself looking for the wires holding them up like in the theater or an older film whose special effects weren't seamless despite the silliness of the idea.

So day two of looking after the girlie's has gone well.  They seem to be close to as obedient as when Dad looks after them.  I am hoping to find somewhere tomorrow selling knitting needles and yarn inexpensively.  Then I can have a go at learning to knit which I am looking forward to.  Especially as I found a CD Rom on thursday, 'Knitting know-how' in a charity shop, which has little videos showing and talking you through the basics.  I find that easier to understand than the books with written instructions and pictures.  Although I do have one of those too.  It will be helpful I am sure but to get me started I will be working with the CD Rom.

Good things about today....

Seem to have begun a new friendship with A.  Unexpected and exciting.  I love it when you connect with someone.

Have glazed all my work which means in two weeks I can start a brand new project.  I also have a clearer idea of what I'd like to do too.

Five of my reserved books are now available for collection from the library.

I am hopefully going shopping with J tomorrow afternoon and spending the evening with A.  Unsure whether will see butterfly girl.

Would you rather get up early or stay up late? Does your schedule fit your preference?

Stay up late.  Insomnia has screwed up any semblance of a schedule.  For the moment I have stopped fighting it hence being on here at half four in the morning.

How I found LiveJournal....

I was searching for famous guys in their mid twenties as I have realised recently that many of the actors etc. I think of as good looking are now in their forties plus and the couple of new guys I have noticed in the last couple of years were seventeen!  Far too young yet I couldn't think of anybody off the top of my head in their mid twenties - early thirties.  So decided to google it.
One of the guys that popped up, I did an image search for.  The image I happened to pick to see the full sized version of was part of someones journal entry on here.
I started reading, got sucked in, recognised some similarities.  So I have joined as I think this might be a helpful tool for the stage of life I currently find myself in, especially with my current aims/wishes.
So here goes........
